One Page – Two Column Resume

With plenty of white space around the candidate’s name and contact information, this résumé will stand out from others whose design amounts to “a sea of ink,” meaning a résumé that is so crammed with text, the reader has to work hard to cull the information. No working hard with this résumé. The candidate’s contact information and proficiencies leap off the page.

This résumé is great for a candidate who has just two or three positions to highlight and wants the focus to be on his or her skills and strengths. By making those two elements stand out, the hiring manager isn’t having to carefully read through the candidate’s experience to glean what it is they are capable of. This résumé says: “These are the skills I bring to the position. This is what I can do for you. This is what I’ve done for my past employers.”
